the Uganda Project
Over the last 2 years, we have as a church been helping financially with the establishment of a Christian school for severely underprivileged children in Kabale, Uganda. Last year we helped out with the purchase of land and buildings. This has made a huge difference for the school.
This year we would like to help with
INSTALL A SAFE DRINKING WATER SUPPLY.
Currently, their water supply is inadequate, and water needs to be trucked in. An engineer has assessed their need, and the best option is to dig a well, with pump, and 10,000L storage tank. The cost quoted for this work is $12,100
2. PURCHASE OF A TOYOTA HIACE VAN
This can be used for transporting children, and can also be hired out to Tourist operators. This van/Taxi hire work will bring in a steady income stream for the school to help cover operational costs. The cost for a suitable second hand low km van is NZ$15,000.
